Erin Carey is an experienced violinist and educator native to the San Francisco Bay Area currently residing in SIlverton, Oregon.
Ms. Carey grew up singing and playing violin from age 4. Her teaching style combines her years studying the Suzuki method as a child with a broad range of additional musical influences.

As a performer, Erin specializes in chamber music and delights in connecting musical genres such as classical and Irish traditional or jazz and folk music. She performs with the Newport Symphony Orchestra in Newport, Oregon and Irish band Slugger O’Toole based in Eugene, Oregon. Ms. Carey holds a B.A. in music from the University of Oregon and a M.S. in Arts Administration from the University of Oregon.

When not teaching or performing music, Erin will be gardening or playing with her two cats, Arthur and Sophie.

Born and raised in Osaka, Japan, Keiko Ota earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from Osaka Kyoiku University in Japan and a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance from Northern Illinois University, where she studied under Marie Wang. She has played in several orchestras in the United States, including the Eugene Symphony, Newport Symphony Orchestra, Oregon Mozar Players, Fox Valley Orchestra in Illinois, and Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra in Illinois.
